As I've mentioned, I've been investing time in learning the canon R5
I initially found this video
And I have additionally watch SO many other videos with tips and tricks on how to connect the R5.
While I was thinking about switching from Lightroom (which I don't love or otherwise use) to Capture One, I found this, more recent video by John Gress.
As some of the commenters say, I feel so seen when he discusses his embarrassment and frustration when the camera would have trouble connecting, ugh! I also find it kind of hard to believe that someone of his caliber would "put up" with that kind of disfunction and not just seek a different camera. Is what the R5 offers really worth the anxiety of wonder whether your tethering system will or won't work?
Since getting the R5, I've actually converted back to uses the OM-1 on portraits just because the tethering is so much more reliable!
I'm glad I didn't try to solve the problem by just throwing more money at it and subscribing to Capture One. And I am optimistic that just carrying extra cards can be my solution 🤞
I am also optimistic because both Lightroom and Canon R5 have had software/firmware updates in the last year.
If this could be the end of my tethering trials and tribulations, I would be SO happy!
