Moving Canon R5 Focus Point With Joystick
I finally figured out how to use the joystick to move focus point! As some you may have followed, I've actually been pretty frustrated with the Canon R5. Partially for it's tethering nightmare, but also because I just can't figure out how to control the focus button. Previously if I wanted to put someone in the right hand side of the frame, I could just toggle I decided to commit to learning the R5 this summer, because I really want to make it my go-to for portraits given the pixel count. I ended up watching this video I will not necessarily sing the praises of the production quality of this video, but it was exactly what I (and 4K+ others needed) Turns out, despite all my searching through the AF menu, it was actually in the custom functions menu. For whatever reason, the camera comes preset with the joystick just off. Custom settings >> Tab 3 >> Customize Buttons
Scroll to the very last button options and huzzah!! Check It I always advocate for learning your camera before you take it out. I should listen to my own advice! Check In Do you have the R5? Have you figured this out? Comments
