Photo credit: Kelley L Cox Followed by meeting A and her bridesmaids at the Mirage Salon, and then followed her to her friend's house perfectly situated a few blocks away as the ladies continued to ready themselves and the bride.

In some ways, having grown up in Vacaville, I take for granted how cute the downtown area is, and seeing it with "wedding photography" eyes, gave me a whole new perspective.

I scooted out to ensure I beat the bride back to the venue for a beautiful ceremony.

Looking into each other's eyes, reminiscing their first date, and the relationship they have built, and will continue to build.

Thankfully, A was very organized with her list of family members/groups to photograph as we started with the full group and broke it down from there.

It was convenient that engagement photos were taken at the same venue as the wedding so , I already had in my mind some scouted locations to shoot as we could race the clock against golden hour for some coupley photos.

It's interesting because with my background in photojournalism, I'm not normally posing or directing people, yet I find that these photos are always my favorite from weddings. It is so important that the couple provide this time between ceremony and reception. Even better when the couple is so comfortable with each other, I'm not directing where to play hands or how to convey the body language of love, because it just comes natural to them.
