In a busy week, I covered three of the four game series between the Giants and Nationals.

I'll admit, I don't know every player in the league and having not photographed the Nationals since 2011, I definitely don't know all the players on the team. So when I get a chance to shoot more than one game in a series, it's a good opportunity to familiarize myself with the players on the first day so during batting practice on the second day, I can ID some of the guys without seeing their numbers.

Sometimes it's easy with big name players, players I've photographed before on other teams, or guys with distinguishing features like hair, beard, tattoos that make it easy to ID.

Batting practice on Tuesday, I got busted focusing on Jayson Werth, a trifecta of recognition. Knowing I could confidently ID him, I made sure to get a clean head shot during BP before he looked at me and questioned "why do you keep taking my picture?" haha busted!

Beyond that, the nights weren't so kind to the Giants

But after two nights in a row of losses, another loss I missed Wednesday night, it was nice to catch a win on a beautiful day in the bay Thursday afternoon
