Google Pics
One of my pet peeves is someone asking for "pics" For some reason the abbreviation of the craft feels insulting. I will acknowledge this is not entirely rational because I am not offended by "photos" despite being short for "photographs", heck my company is even named after that abbreviation and spelled with a f, so obviously I'm not a purist by any stretch of the imagination. But I digress.
So when I saw Google was launching "Google Pics for Workspace" as a core feature, I was both excited that it might be an update to Google Photos. But also slightly annoyed that it was now called "Pics". But good news (or bad, depending on how you feel about ai) Google Pics will be AI image generation that can be embedded across all the Google Workspace tools you use. To me, the "pics" is appropriate, because this is where you insert a "quick and dirty" graphic into your google slides. It's not taking away from a graphic designer that I wouldn't have hired, but it is saving me time when I want to make. I'm excited to be in on Google Workspace Experiments. I probably won't use it that much, but at least I don't view it as a tool to replace photographers. Another AI product Check In Do you plan to use image generation
