Meeting Michael Lewis
During the women's basketball season, I had a chance to meet Michael Lewis. You might know him as the author of Moneyball and the Blindside, but in my house, he is known as the author of Home Game: An Accidental Guide to Fatherhood. Big ups to Michael Lewis for supporting women's sports and for unapologetically putting words to some of the less endearing emotions one might feel in early parenthood. And shout-out to Darren Yamashita for capturing this photo of me emphatically telling him how my spouse felt so "seen" when reading Home Game.
Check It Normally, I would not approach someone to say hi. That's not just true for celebrities (like when LeBron James sat courtside at Cal), but really all people. I am actually pretty introverted. But I felt like as a dad (and a dad with such tragedy) I wanted him to know how much he has helped other dads who discovered this book. Check In Are you a dad? How was early parenthood for you? Have you read Michael Lewis' book? Comments
