Lindsay + Hunter Engagement Announcement PhotosWhat a treat to cover L and H's engagement photos. With a wedding planned for July, they wanted to get their announcements out before the new year. So we tried to squeeze in a shoot working around the rain. Originally planned for Monday, which turned into a downpour, we were thankfully able to work with both our schedules to reschedule the shoot for an overcast day. The typical engagement photos are full of light, ideally even golden hour, but when that's not an option, it's not an option. L really fell in love with H watching him play guitar and music is so much more than a hobby for him. Since it's a part of their love story and part of H's life, they both wanted to incorporate the guitar into the images. Engagement photos are really a chance to show who you are as couple. While you are beautiful and stunning on your wedding day, your relationship is not necessarily summarized by a white dress and a suit and tie, it's you, as you are, away from the eyes friends and family. I love the idea of anything that personalizes the photos and tells a couple's love story. The rain did make for some nice green leaves in this hand-holding walking away shot they wanted to recreate from a photo they had taken early in their relationship. Yet my favorite photos ended up being some of the last photos we took. Not what the couple had in mind, but they played along and let me get some of the more moody leaf-less trees. And hey, it's what they ended up choosing for the save the dates!
