One of my favorite parts of working with Cal State East Bay is taking head shots.

It's great to get that first look at some of the new players, get a sense of some of their personalities and most importantly helps you ID the athletes as reference for when season starts.

I try to make head shots as quick and painless for the players, coaching and SIDs. Sometimes I wish I had more time to take proper portraits and have hours with each team, come up with different set ups and lighting. On the same note, it's nice to knock out four teams in one day!

CSUEB: Cross Country 2013 Today I had some big help from Samuel Cain. He's been covering a lot of the Cal Football behind the scenes and is looking to develop his sports photography so he decided to come along. Battling the sun to set up the scrim, the wind blowing said scrim, and helping use the reflector without needing any direction on how to properly bounce light, he was clutch in making these shots happen. Sometimes it's tough to work within clients budgets, but having help with Samuel and calling on additional help from SID Steve Connolly, we can get it done!
