Headed over to AT&T Park for the matchup between the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres.

After getting a lesson in playoff standings and "magic numbers" last week, I was closely following along the scores between the Giants and the Dodgers. Before shooting Giants on Thursday, the "magic number" was 5. Then Giants won, and Dodgers lost and the number became 3. Then Friday, not shooting, Giants won but Dodgers also won so magic number became 2. This afternoon Dodgers lost and the magic number became ONE! Meaning if the Giants won one game in the rest of the season, they would clinch the title of National League Champions.

It made the first time in a while that I felt really nervous to cover a game. Knowing that if Giants won, it would be a huge celebration, champagne party in the clubhouse, and a chance to prove that I can hang with the big boys and cover big games.

When we arrived, was told it was going to be only one pool camera from AP (Ben Margot) allowed in the clubhouse. So though I was disappointed, I was a bit relieved the pressure was off.

Then in the eighth, I was told we could go on the field for celebration shots... but in the ninth with Giants up a solid (an eventually final score) 8-4 was told that we couldn't and had to stay put.

So my position was familiar but I still felt pressure to make a shot that would tell the story of Giants winning National League West Championship and not just another game midseason.
