For those who missed the memo, I headed up to Wyoming to spend some time with family in Cody, driving with my ever faithful road warriors, Mama Cox and Grandma. After picking up my dad in Boise, we ventured back to Twin Falls to check out Shoshone Falls, the Niagara of the West. Shoshone Falls is actually 45 feet taller than Niagara Falls at 212 feet. Though instead of three falls combining into one, there are lots of falls across a 900 foot span.

Shoshone Falls has existed since the end of the last ice age, and was formed after the Bonneville Flood carved out the Snake River Canyon.

An awesome sight indeed, with rainbows!

It costs $3 to enter the park to view the falls, but the park offers a lot more than just a view of the falls with nice and practically empty swimming holes. Were we not on our way to Cody, would have loved to stay and spend the day here.
