Headed over to Berkeley Food and Housing Project for Help-Portrait 2011.

Help-Portrait is based around the idea for photographers to "give" not "take" portraits. It's designed to be one a day a year when professional photographers volunteer their gear, time and talent to take portraits of those who otherwise might not have the resources for a professional photograph. Help Portrait gathers volunteers and donors to be able to create prints on site they can take home.

I was team leader for an awesome group of photographers which found me more running around and problem solving then working the booth I was sharing with three other photographers throughout the day, but I was able to sneak in a few portraits. Like this adorable family.

Amir got a little distracted mid shoot by his paper rhinoceros cut out.

But the daughters were both able to pose long enough to take a picture with their dad... or at least the framed photo of him because he is deceased.

The whole day is very powerful and serves as a good reminder of one of my favorite quotes "Be Kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." -Plato
