Sunday, I headed over to the Alameda Point Antiques & Collectibles Faire aka Alameda Flea Market with my friend, K.C. and my sister.

K.C.'s blog, Thrifty Solutions for an Urban Gal, finds "chic/green products, tasty recipes, and a good workout, while being easy on the budget." She had heard about the flea market and wanted to check it out and to report back to her followers. I figured I would tag along and take some photos of all the treasures. One of the great things about photography, especially in the digital age, it's really easy to go on self-motivated photo assignments. Though sometimes very pedestrian, it's also very fun!

The faire was a combination of overpriced antiques and cheap creations, and vice versa! haha. It just proves that even the strangest things can exist, and more surprisingly, be sold!

It was definitely a treat for the eyes, not only the items, but the people buying the items. Though some pieces were slightly terrifying.

In the end, Stacey found a vintage-inspired hat for only $1, and clock earrings for $12 and KC found a large homemade magnetic framed chalkboard for only $20 (Another vendor was selling something similar for $60).

I found a purse for $1, but the find of the day without question, was my "hecho en mexico" velvet elvis! For those of you who don't know. I LOVE velvet paintings! All the best velvet art is coming out of Mexico and Elvis is one of the top subjects. So to find a velvet elvis made in Mexico, is like the holy grail of velvet paintings. The run on ebay for almost $100, and I got mine for a steal of a deal, $35. What a find!!
