The races were help at Fernhill Park and it may have been rainy, but wow was it beautiful compared to the dirt courses I assumed.

In a sport that is non-contact and very individual without real "peak action" apart from a close finish, it's a challenge to photograph. But the rain suddenly made everything gritty and awesome!

University of San Francisco women held strong to win their 4th straight championship.

And Portland men snuck away with a one point win over the BYU Cougars.

Afterwards, had to change out of my soggy clothes and make a quick bathroom change into banquet appropriate attire. Which you can imagine was quite a feat!

It was awesome to have Ellen Devlin speak to the students, touching base on how her life was positively affected by athletics and how so much of that is a tribute to Title IX, the women of yesterday who blazed the trail the women of today who are breaking records, not to mention stereotypes, and the women of tomorrow who will be raising the bar both figuratively and literally!

I'd also like to brag that on a two day trip flight that allows one carry-on, my rolling camera bag, and a personal item, backpack full of computer, and clothes, toiletries, shoes I would have for the weekend, I am quite the efficient traveler - wonder where I got that from? ;)
