Giants defeat Cardinals 9-0 Game 7 Win the Pennant

Headed back to AT&T Park for the tie breaking Game Seven of the National League Championship Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants.

Worrying about the rain report, we had an early drizzle but then blue skies that held up... until the 9th... we'll get to that later ;)

Giants got off to a great start with Matt Cain on the mound striking out the first batter.

And even better with Angel Pagan scoring a run in the first inning against Kyle Lohse.

Giants added more hope to the evening with Gregor Blanco scoring a run in the second inning.

And then in the third inning Giants exploded and got bases loaded against Lohse.

Joe Kelly came in to replace him... Hunter Pence hit a huge two run RBI double and with a fielding error by John Jay, Buster Posey was able to run one in.

Angel Pagan and Brandon Crawford batted in two more runs before Marco Scutaro came up to bat AGAIN in the same inning. From there everything else seemed insignificant, even as Giants scored more and more runs increasing the already huge cushion as Cardinals were unable to put up any runs.

Then in the ninth, it started to rain a bit... but there was no sense in calling rain delay with three outs left in a no chance game. But Javier Lopez was struggling to finish em off and it just started DOWNPOURING.

With two outs, he was replaced by Sergio Romo to finish em off...

And the Giants won the Pennant with a 9-0 win over the Cardinals!

As they went on the field to do the trophy presentation, Mother Nature just DID NOT let up.

By the time I went into the clubhouse, I was already drenched head to toe.

What a game, what an experience, Giants win the Pennant and are going to the World Series!!!!!

Awesome Kelley! Pablo is FIRED UP in every shot. Loved seeing Freddy & Wilson in the dugout. The celebration, the rain, the clubhouse ... just awesome! And there's something special about the shot of Romo in the foreground with the focus on the crowd in the rain in the background, just before the last out. Outstanding Kelley!
