I started photographing for getty images when getty took over the NWSL contract from imagn. Since I was previously working as league photographer for Bay FC via imagn, I think they liked the idea of me continuing my role just under a different agency name.
Soon after I received a call from the former bay area AP staff photographer who was interested in having me cover 49ers game for AP.
While I was, and am, quite happy with my freelancing workload through imagn, and I did not want to "burn bridges" I was motivated to work for other agencies for the experience. I wanted to learn new workflows and better understand industry needs and expectations so that I can share my knowledge and insight with up-and-coming photographers... and also because it's another excuse to see my bay area photo buddies at pro games now and then!
