Being the child of a mom who would pack a dozen rolls of film in her suitcase for vacation, I had access to a point-and-shoot camera and my mom drove me around town so I could enter images in the Vacaville "Know Your City Week" contest. I'm not sure if it was the recognition that excited me or that I won a jelly belly machine and McDonald's gift certificates. Plus I wore really awesome fuax-silk shirts and denim sqorts, so life was good!
