Headed over to Candlestick Park for the preseason game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings.
After photographing all the games last year through the team, I was excited to be assigned to shoot the game through US Presswire. It's interesting how who you are shooting for affects your MO going into the game.
Previously, I was able to just concentrate on getting good action. Now, it's more so getting specific players in action.
I prefer just shooting the game my style, but the more I get used to it, the more I can balance shooting my style as well as fulfilling the needs of Presswire.
One thing I miss the most with having to transmit during halftime is the hot dogs they hand out to media on the field... but Jeffrey Bennett knew this and brought me one in the media trailer as a surprise... weird how a disgusting hot dog can make me so happy. Though it probably won't help my chances of looking like this ;)

I can't believe it's already football season. Back to freezing in the chill of "the Stick" exhausting myself running up and down the field, looking really beautiful in my kneepads and XXXL photo vest... and loving every minute of it.
It was, by all accounts a preseason game
Where the starters sit out most of the game.
And the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string try to show what they are made of.

Excited to see Cal's Giorgio Tavecchio make all his kicks in his first NFL appearance and be out there with the "big boys" like Joe Staley. Though Akers probably has the 49ers locked up, it was a good showing for Giorgio and hopefully the start of a promising career, Go Bears!
In the end, 49ers defeated the Vikings 17-6. And though I can't believe it's already preseason... I can't wait for the regular season to start!
