Giants defeat Diamondbacks 4-2

Headed over to AT&T Park for the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants.

Being Memorial Day, the park recognized all of the heroes that have served our country, including triple amputee Corporal Nick Kimmel, who turned down scholarship offers to play baseball in order to enlist in the Marine Corps. To see him stand up out of his wheelchair, on two prostectic legs, and use his one arm to throw the first pitch... powerful! Sometimes we are disconnected about the sacrifices people make to serve our country... times like this, you can't ignore it!

A 2pm starttime is pretty unusual, but it made for very nice light... and sure seemed to work in the Giants favor because they came out swinging and scored three runs in the first inning.

Emmanuel Burris scored another run in the second inning.

Diamondbacks were able to put up two runs, one by Trevor Cahill in the third and another with a home run by John McDonald in the eighth.

Neither of the two runs threatened the Giants who came away with the 4-2 win over the DBacks.
