Headed over to AT&T Park to photograph game three of the Miami Marlins at the San Francisco Giants.

Being a rainy game and knowing I wouldn't be able to transmit constantly throughout the game as usual, I decided to take my spot outside third base, which last year was always my favorite spot to shoot, since I wouldn't need the protection of the net while transmitting between plays.

I wasn't too happy with a lot of my shots as I seemed to get a lot of the backside of scores.

A perk of sitting outside third was when Jed Jacobsohn pointed out the one-legged pigeon ;-)
Impressive!
But the reason I love sitting outside third is to be able to get some tight shots of the players and coaches.

Especially nice to get a dugout shot of Aubrey Huff. My heart goes out to him as he battles with anxiety. It's great that he was able to be open about it, get the treatment that he needs and I'm looking forward to him being back out on the green.
It's always hard to take pictures of players who you know are struggling, but I try to stand pretty far away, use my longest lens and be non-invasive while still documenting the game.
With big news that morning that Pablo Sandoval fractured his hamate bone in his left hand, it was nice to be able to get shots of him, in high spirits in the dugout.

And shots of Connor Gillespie called up from Fresno to replace Panda at 3rd.

Unfortunately, my bay area record is now 7 and 3 as the Giants fell to the Marlins 3-2.
An embarrassing moment of the game was when Gregor Blanco rounded second on his way to third... slipped and fell. As Z-man, Michael Zagaris, said, it's always embarrassing to fall, it's more embarrassing to fall on TV and in front of 40 thousand people.
But he still made it safely to third and was able to laugh it off =)
