Kings defeat Trail Blazers 104-103

Headed over to Power Balance Pavilion for the game between the Sacramento Kings and the Portland Trail Blazers.

After all the talk of the new arena, or lack there of, and the drama between the Maloof brothers and Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson, I was really hoping either would make an appearance at the game.

Dan Stergar helped spot that Joe and Gavin Maloof who normally sit courtside, were up top in their suite but without George, the brother at the center of the deal/no deal drama. And KJ was no where to be found.

But there was still a game to photograph, and an exciting one at that!

Kings spend most of the game trying to catch up to the Blazers.

Eventually they caught them at 93-93 with 5:48 remaining. And then they just kept trading baskets through 39.4 seconds left on the clock and tied at 100 points.

Terrance WIlliams came up with a big steal and with 10 seconds left on the clock, DeMarcus Cousins, who had 23 points on the night, came up with a basket- 102-100.

But Portland wasn't done and Wesley Matthews ever so cooly, drained a three to the Kings 103-102 with 5 seconds to go.

But that was all Marcus Thornton needed to step back and make the jump shot with 3 seconds left, setting the stage for the 104-103 victory for the Kings.
