NBA: Warriors defeat Kings 115-89
Headed up to Power Balance Pavilion for the match up between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings.
Shortly after arriving, the newsroom, my twitter feed and facebook all started blowing up with the news that Monta Ellis, Epke Udoh and Kwame Brown were all having their contracts traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in return for Andrew Bogut and former Warrior, Stephen Jackson. Though the newsroom guys were optimistic that any type of change up would be good for the Warriors, just about all the tweets and facebook statuses I saw were people thinking it was a terrible trade. I guess we'll have to wait and see... (haha with picture below - I'm so punny!)
But in the current moment, looks like the Warriors don't need Ellis -who remained in the locker room throughout the game- to win games.
It's interesting to note, Monta Ellis was quoted saying about his teammates reaction: "Everybody is upset, but this is what happens. This is part of the league. I wish them the best. Now, I'm going to go help the Bucks win."
... But I guess winning eased their pain of losing Ellis cause everybody seemed happy to me.
Especially majority owner Joe Lacob, who I'm sure was taking some heat for trading Ellis, was all jokes and smiles with head coach Mark Jackson.
Also fun to see Cal Bear alum and Yahoo! Sports columnist Mike Silver court side with Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson.
